Summer = Family, Friends, and Fun

I know that the few of you who have followed this blog thought that maybe it was a one-two shot deal for me. I'm back to blogging because I want to share how blessed I am and how much I love my family and life.

Most of you know that at the beginning of the summer Rob became unemployed. This was a decision that was well thought out and prayed over. We are still praying that he finds something that will be interesting, challenging and fruitful. It has been really wonderful having him home over the summer. We have had so much quality time together and the kids love having him home. I guess we are making up for those five months that he lived in Dubai. Don't get me wrong it is an adjustment having him under foot all day but a good one. Less housework for me. :-)

The kids spent the summer swimming, swimming, swimming. Those kids are fish and every chance they get they are at Nana's pool. Thank goodness mom and dad dug that hole in their back yard 20 something years ago. They also have been enjoying the horses that my dad has adopted and in May we welcomed a colt, named Denver in honor of Tebow's new hometown. They are both learning alot about taking care of the horses and riding lessons are coming slowly but surely. Chloe is a natural and the horses seem to respond well to her commands. Nana and Papa just splurged and bought both kids new boots and let me tell you I would just love to have Chloe's. I'll have to post pics of them.

We took a vacation to St. Augustine beach for Memorial Weekend (about 5 days), in July we went to the my parents home in Franklin, NC. Otherwise know as the "mountain house." There we went tubing in Deep Creek, white water rafting, hiking, and spending time with family and cousins for the 4th of July. We headed home for a few days then we headed to Myakka to visit the Bartley's (my uncle and his clan) new home, then to the Long Boat Key for a few days. I so love that beach and want to go back for a week next summer. We started celebrating Chloe and my sisters birthdays in Long Boat and then kept the party going for at least another week. Chloe had 4 birthday parties between my uncle, playgroup, Rob and I and Suncountry. I think next year we may have to cut it down to two. I was exhausted from all the birthday celebration but our little Chloe bug is so worth it. She turned 5 and is the most wonderful daughter we could ask for. We spend my last week of the three week vacation hanging around the house, going to the springs with the Holbrook's and going to movies.

I'm back to work now and there is a whole other blog that I will dedicate to Back to School and where we ended up sending the kids this year.

God bless!
